This summer, the Imperial War Museum (IWM) will be marking the anniversary with new and thought-provoking family activities.
Working with the research behind my children’s books The Story of Britain’s Black Airmen and The Story of the Windrush, IWM will develop a new family activity. Through object handling, families will learn about former servicemen and women such as Billy Strachan, a Second World War wireless operator and pilot in Bomber Command.
I will also be running my The Story of the Windrush collage making sessions with local schools and community groups to create a new artwork to be displayed at IWM London later in the year.
