School Visits

School visits from an award-nominated UK Black history author!

My school visits are more than just a book signing or reading. I talk about the story behind the story and share how I find ideas, research and write my books. As well as learning history, my school visits help UK students to understand non-fiction books, give them ideas on how to improve their own writing, and inspire them to be authors!

What to expect from my school visits

A ‘meet the author’ Black history presentation for school children consisting of a 30-minute talk followed by a Q&A.

I talk about historical figures and events, like the Windrush experience, that have shaped Black British history. My author visits can align with your school’s curriculum or objectives and encourage year-round education of Black history.

I also offer longer history-themed art workshops that are more suitable for museums, libraries and festivals.

I’m available for both virtual and in-person primary school visits.

Virtual School Visits

I understand that sometimes schools are struggling with limited budgets. A virtual ‘meet the author’ talk might suit you better than an in-person visit, especially if classes are combined.
